24th February 2009 Windsurfing: Kanaha Wind Direction: NE Wind Stength: Surf / Sea State: Air Temperature: No scorchio!!! :( Sea Temperature: Weather: Overcast Max Speed: Distance Covered: A few days off and here we go again. Wind is forecast every day for the foreseeable future and beyond plus at last plenty of swell to go with it this time too. Kanaha today was BIG. Light wind early doors but access was eventually granted to non-stop logo+ clean sets being carressed by a solid 5.2 breeze. A combination of 1) big wave nerves, 2) very gusty wind, 3) post-windless-break rustiness and 4) a heavy lunch... meant that I wasn't pushing it as hard as I would have liked but I still locked in to a fair few monsters that were interspersed with more than a fair few swims. Some very hairy moments out there today but fortunately no damage to kit or self and all good fun. Tomorrow is forecast to be even BIGGER...both waves and wind. Epic is written all over it. Praying for a bit of sunshine and warmer temps too. |
